GOOD THING I’M NOT LACTOSE INTOLERANT.
Hmmm. Lauren’s post reminds me of couch-sitting with my 17-year old watching stoopit TV and she turns to me and says “You have no idea how much I miss blue cheese”.
Now, a couple of things spring to mind as I retell this story.
- How lucky I am to be able to be sitting around with my 17-year-old.
- How great it is that she talks to me
- The fact that when she was little and we went out to eat, she always ordered the same thing in her piping little-kid voice, “A side salad with blue cheese, please!”
Bittersweet moment there. We want so many things for our children. There are those things we can never give them. A parent lesson I’m glad I learned early.

Process dairy has less lactic acid in it then milk, so you’d still be good.
